Sv. Josip nursery school in Mostar celebrates its 20th anniversary at the end of this year. On this occasion, the administration of the school opted for a new visual identity of this already well-known and recognized institution. The main issue for us was to reconcile the religious background of the institution with its secular purpose. For this reason, we sought inspiration from both of these fields. On one side we have the well known portrait of St. Joseph holding a child (baby Jesus) in his arms, and on the other side we have something that all nursery schools are known for- those simple, educational wooden toys. Two halos on our logo have been borrowed from the old portrait and represent parenthood. The smile underneath represents the parents' feelings of reassurance and satisfaction who entrust their children to the staff of Sv. Josip nursery school. We designed a modular logo based on the stylistics of the educational wooden toys, also having in mind the possibility of using the logo for school’s souvenirs, gifts etc. The rich palette of colours used for the logo attracts attention and breathes new life into the future of this institution.
