Established in 1999, International cultural manifestation Mostar Spring - Days of Matica Hrvatska quickly gained international prominence and became a member of the Association of European Festivals. Commemorating 20 years of it’s existence, this monograph is a comprehensive overview of more than seven hundred performances and events that were part of the festival’s official program.
Shift has been collaborating with Matica Hrvatska, the oldest Croatian non-governmental organization for over a decade. In 2002, our collaboration was extended to their Mostar Spring festival and since then we have contributed to a significant number of their projects thus leaving a notable mark on the overall branding and the visual promotion of the festival. The concept of the new monograph is a balanced blend of the past work of the organization and the collection of essays and articles penned by Dragan Marijanović and published by the daily newspaper in the span of two decades.
We chose a multiple column newspaper style layout, achieving a harmonious and consistent look while presenting a great variety of art and cultural projects featured in the monograph. By focusing on establishing a visual balance between text and photographs, the final result was a coherent and clean design which continues to grasp the reader’s attention.
