Our most recent project was the development of visual identity design for the luxury rustic-style residence built in an old mill at the Island of Šipan, Croatia. The residence is an iconic landmark of costal Dalmatia and the area's ancient architecture which embodies the rich history of the Dubrovnik Republic. The original stone house was recently converted into a modern facility with a renovation that transformed it into luxury tourist accommodation/ residence. The goal was to promote the residence as a chic, contemporary place intended for tourist accommodation, in one of Croatia’s most beautiful islands. Shift has created a visual identity for the residence that plays off the motifs of the Latin name Stella Maris (Star of the sea), which has it origin in the early Middle Ages when this term was first attributed to the Virgin Mary, patron of sailors. Besides the motif of "Stella Maris" the logotype design uses a variety of motifs the Island of Šipan is known for - primarily the heritage of numerous churches and mansions and stylization of coats of arms associated with the island. The colour palette is the inevitable Mediterranean olive green with clean white for a pureness representing Virgin Mary. The Stella Maris logotype is set in the TT Jenevers Light.
